HOME – Dogme Feature Film

Helen (Pauline McLynn – Angela’s Ashes) has been married to the same man, Paul (Paul McGann – Witnail and I), for twenty-five years. They live on a council estate in Margate. Up until recently she had been living a monotonous life - the daily grind of work, sleep, looking after the family and Paul is on the brink of a breakdown, sick and tired of being caught in the poverty trap. Helen is determined that their youngest daughter, and teenage mother, Kelly, doesn’t end up like she did and is positively encouraging her in her new hairdressing course at the local college. Into their lives comes eighteen-year-old Tasha, a refugee from the Czech Republic and a new friend of Kelly’s. Tasha Ignites Paul’s perceptions and fears surrounding asylum seekers, she exposes a whole new side of Kelly her parents weren’t aware of and she opens up something far greater in Helen.

Cast also includes newcomers Chloe Sirene as Tasha and Tamsin Dunstone as Kelly with Rula Lenska playing Irina, Tasha’s mother.
